Pollspeak is a watchdog organization dedicated to keeping college sports polls (and computer-rankings) honest, or at least questioning those that seem to be flawed, uneducated or have an unreasonable bias. Why? Because polls affect teams' TV exposure, finances, recruiting and national championship hopes.

Voters and pollsters must be held accountable.

Free The Ballots Petition

The Free The Ballots Petition simply states: "We, the undersigned fans of college athletics, request that you make the ballots of every voter public after every vote. We feel it is the only way to ensure the fair play and good sportsmanship embodied by college athletics continues to be upheld."

To USA Today, Harris and the BCS

The petition's first targets will be USA Today and Harris Interactive. Hopefully they will follow the AP Poll and publish their ballots in all sports. For football, we will also petition the BCS to only use polls with public ballots in the future. This petition will also be sent to other collegiate sport polls that do not disclose votes.

2/22/09 -- 513 people now signed.

2/22/09 -- The first draft of the petition was sent on 2/21/09 with 513 signatures. It was sent to the BCS administrator, USA Today, AFCA and Harris Interactive.

In order to protect privacy, e-mails will NEVER be listed on this site. When the number reaches 500 or more, the first draft will be sent. Additional drafts will be sent every time an additional 500 or more sign until all ballots are freed!
